The law was blocked by Susan Bolton, a U.S. District Court Judge
The Arizona immigration law (SB 1070) approved by the Arizona legislature several weeks ago- and which was due to be introduced on July 29- was temporarily blocked by Susan Bolton, a U.S. District Court Judge. On Wednesday July 28, Bolton blocked the law’s most substantive provisions, including requirements that immigrants carry their papers at all times and that police check a person’s immigration status while enforcing other laws. Some minor provisions were allowed to stand.
President Obama was among the high-profile opponents of the new law. Arizona is expected to appeal the decision – which is being closely watched by more than 20 other states across America that are hoping to introduce similar measures. Recent opinion polls have found more than 60 per cent of the US population supports the new Arizona immigration law. Arizona’s border is the most heavily trafficked for illegal crossings among southern states.
Bolton’s decision cites the limited resources of the federal government to handle requests from states in regards to immigration law. However, this is not a legal issue but a matter of resources with the Department of Homeland Security. Starting today, a long process of court appeals begins. At The Americano, we find the true political problem to lie in the hands of Congress and the Obama administration as they have failed to act on the issue of securing the borders and implementing the federal law on immigration.

“The judge’s blocking of an overwhelmingly popular law, legislated by the freely elected legislators of the Arizona legislature, is another sad chapter in an increasingly imperial judiciary’s war against the right of the American people to govern themselves.
“For decades, the federal government has failed to do its job to control America’s borders, resulting in an escalation of crime, kidnapping, and violence in border states like Arizona. This negligence on behalf of the federal government has forced more and more states to take action. Arizona’s law – overwhelmingly supported by the people of the state – was a common sense-step to empower Arizona’s law enforcement officers to protect their citizens against the failure of the federal government to enforce our immigration laws.
“Considering it was the federal government’s failure to enforce our immigration laws that made Arizona’s law necessary, the idea that a federal judge could rule against the Arizona law because it might “divert resources from the federal government’s other responsibilities” would be almost comical if it weren’t so deadly serious. The people of Arizona – indeed, the entirety of the American people who seek to live in safety – deserve better than this. This ruling should be immediately appealed.
“Ultimately, this ruling is a reminder that if the American people want the rule of law enforced, they need a president and Congress willing to do what it takes to secure the border. Unfortunately, the Obama-Pelosi-Reid administration and Congress have made it clear they are not up to the job.”

This month of July 2010, our U.S. Federal courts have found the so called State of Arizona hate filled legislation namely “House Bill 2013” and “SB1070” Un-constitution (So much for the intellect of Jan Brewer, “Did you read the bills you signed?”). But we all know that they will go crying to the Supreme Court of the United States, please, please, please go. We will fight you in Arizona, any other state, and yes in Washington DC. We will not tire, we will not be silent and we will persevere, I promise you.
In my opinion the Republican Party has been taken over the most extreme of clans; the Baggers, Birthers and Blowhards (people who love to push their beliefs and hate on others while trying to take away the rights of those they just hate) and that’s who they need to extract from their party if they real want to win in November. Good Luck, because as they said in WACO, “We Ain’t Coming Out”.
It’s all about politics: Jan Brewer you were never elected to be Governor, but you have no problem trying to get elected on the back of undocumented workers, you loser (sure you may win but the long-term effects to your so called State is just beginning). Well Arizona, you can keep boycotting new holidays, passing hate filled legislation and the rest of our country will continue to challenge you in court of law and Boycott your so-called state.
Lets face it, no one can real believe anything that comes out of Brewer’s mouth, in an interview, this year, in an attempt to gain sympathy, she first said her father had died in Germany fighting the Nazi in World War II (which ended 1945) but of course we find out the truth that father was never in Germany and died in California in 1955. But we are suppose to believe everything else she says, right!

This only shows how biased and out of touch with the American people the Obama administration is. They filed the lawsuit for political reasons (trying to recapture the latino vote) and the Judge´s injunction is simply another example of judicial activism from the bench. Arizona is right and the people of Arizona have a right to defend their borders if the Federal Government does not comply with the law. Newt Gingrich is absolutely right. Thank you.

I have talked to countless veterans form other wars or conflicts, they are not happy about illegals but they remind us that they fought for freedom of speech. My Richard died for the love he had for the United States. So many of our friends who were stationed at Ford Ord Calif. Volunteered. One thing is for sure that these brave men and women were not fighting for illegals. I have asked plenty of these fools if they would be willing to fight for this country. It was poor White people who picked the fields until the 1960 when Mexicans actually came. Now that they are leaving and the farmers are willing to pay Americans better wages so we as a family will be back picking the fields as we had done before, along our white and black friends. Once I got started I had to add this. One more thing as for the chant si se puede remember that Ceaser Chavez was not protesting for illegals but for the farm workers nor was Martin Luther King. Gingrich is right! It was the federal government’s fault for not acting. Arizona and other states have the right to protect themselves when the federal government abdicates its responsibilities.

I want AZ Governor Jan Brewer to show papers to prove she’s a human being. I think it was FOX that did a show on extraterrestrials that live among us, and Governor Brewer does resemble some alien from a B Movie, “Invasion of the Brain Snatchers”, right? I’ve have my suspicions about people like Jan Brewer, Mitch McConnell and Karl Rove because of their lack of human qualities.
As far as the immigration issue goes… Republicans never made a big deal about immigration enforcement during Bush/Cheney but NOW all conservative hell is breaking loose… even though the Obama Administration is deporting MORE illegal’s than Bush ever did. On 7-28-10 I was watching Republicans on Morning Joe (MSNBC) preach about being ADULTS when it comes to our economic meltdown. I say BS! The real ADULTS are trying to demand accountability from those who got us in this financial mess. Republicans want to shift the burden of responsibility on Teachers unions and others in the American working class.

So you want Jan Brewer to prove she is human. Well we want Obama to provide a birth certificate that is an American citizen. Our Governor has quite a lot of human qualities. When she was Secretary of State and others would call her and she was very cordial and provided much needed info and explaining the administrative codes. Since you do not know her you should keep your idiotic opinions to yourself. She served Arizona well for at least the past twenty years or more. When Ronald Regan was president and gave amnesty, that was a huge mistake which we now have learned from past mistakes. Learn from our past mistakes moron. This is why it is such a big issue now. I wonder if Orly Taitz, is a mail order bride, just like her law degree? She is perfect reporter material for “Fake News”, where unfounded rumors and innuendo reign supreme, unlike a our US courts of law. The way our courts work is that you get a competent lawyer, verifiable facts and present them to a judge, if the facts are real and not half baked lies, then, and only then, you proceed to trial.
